Development Manager Job Opening

CAE is looking for an experienced Development Manager to join the team in Hardwick!

This role will report to the Executive Director, and will play a part in the long term and strategic vision and viability for our organization. The position is parttime to begin, with the potential of growing over time. This role will be critical in advancing the mission of the CAE, and in helping to support both our general operations and our specific program areas.

Tasks for the job will include overall annual fund activities, summer fundraiser activities, communication and grant writing/research activities and donor data management. We are looking for someone who has experience working in a diverse and busy office setting, and who has interest in our work and mission. We are also looking for someone who understands and prioritizes great customer service. We want all our partners, clients and visitors to be treated with respect, cheerfulness and a problem-solving attitude.

Required Skills: Candidates must have previous experience in fundraising, with preference for environmental and/or local community projects work. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their experience managing donor database software, and must have proficiency in the use of computers and related software such as MS Word, MS Excel, and Google Drive and Calendar.  Must be extremely organized, detail-oriented, and efficient, with strong verbal communication skills. Preference given to experienced fundraising individuals who are looking for Vermont-based non-profit work, and who are interested in growing with CAE over time.

Kitchen Crew

CAE’s Farm-to-Institution program is seeking part-time assistance (2 days/wk) this summer on our Kitchen Crew. Are you interested? Give us a call to find out more!

This position is a critical part of our local produce processing program team, working alongside our Production Manager, Facilities Manager, and Farm to Institution Accounts Manager. The primary responsibility is to ensure the safe, clean, and efficient processing and packaging of raw farm products into value-added products for institutions. This role requires:

  • Preparation, packaging, and shipping of weekly fresh and frozen Just Cut product orders (particularly broccoli, beets, cabbage, potatoes and carrots);
  • Ability to work in an industrial kitchen setting, including: warehouse inventory lifting, physical capability to move foodstuffs, work in hot and cold settings, and operation of food processing equipment;
  • Clear communication with Production Manager, particularly around occupational and food safety protocols (e.g. equipment malfunction, QA/QC, staff injuries, etc.);
  • Maintaining a high level of cleanliness throughout production kitchens and warehouse.
