Hardwick Community Gardens

The Hardwick Community Garden was lost to Tropical Storm Irene in August 2011. As a result of the extensive flooding and washing away of top soil, we have decided to temporarily suspend gardening on that property in 2012 so that we may weigh the pros and cons of relocating the garden.

Registration is now open for the 2011 season.

An individual plot is approximately 20 X 30 and is $20. We have sliding scale rates!

Please contact Elena Gustavson at center@hardwickagriculture.org for availability and details.

Hardwick Community Garden

Started in 2004, The Center for an Agricultural Economy (CAE) received their first grant from the New England Grassroots Environmental Fund and established a vibrant community garden space that includes a picnic table, tools, shelter and walking paths along the Lamoille River, on land owned and maintained by the Town of Hardwick.

The allotment-style Hardwick Community Garden attracts a wonderful range of both new and seasoned gardeners from the area, made up of families, individuals and school groups.

We are very happy to welcome back both OSSU REACH After-School program and Buffalo Mountain School back into the gardens, as well as both new and returning gardeners. As we embark on a new season, we have lined up a series of great workshops, open to the public and look forward to another stellar year of gardening and community.
